Courage & Resilience: The Pioneer Women of Ballarat Montage
Way Back When worked with Ballarat’s Sovereign Hill to create a digital publication that explores the stories of 32 women featured in a memorial photographic montage created between 1870 and 1890. The montage is a key historical resource and a valuable insight into the lives of women in Ballarat during the nineteenth century. As well as sharing in-depth research about the diverse lives of the women in the montage, this eBook explores the notion of a ‘pioneer’ in colonial Victoria, and the challenges of finding women in historical records.
