Through Childhood Eyes: hidden stories of World War Two
The City of Port Phillip was a successful recipient of a grant from the Victorian government to recognise the 75th anniversary of the end of World War Two. The council engaged Way Back Whento collect stories from people who were children living in the area during the war years. These stories have be brought to life by current school children and young people living in the City of Port Phillip who have narrated these experiences as part of a soundscape. Written narratives of all the individuals who shared their stories have been included on this website along with photographs of the participants.
The project was produced under COVID-19 restrictions and it was launched virtually on 8 November 2020. A recording of the launch is also available on the website.
